Tord Boontje

Tord Boontje is a London based designer, who works with a small team at Studio Tord Boontje creating product, graphic and furniture designs. The Studio’s work draws from a belief that modernism does not mean minimalism, that contemporary does not forsake tradition, and that technology does not abandon people and senses. He has worked with a range of international companies including Shiseido, Yamaha, Target, Alexander McQueen, Moroso, Habitat, Artecnica, Perriet Joüet and Swarovski.

Examples of Boontje’s work can be found in numerous public collections, such as MoMA, New York, The Victoria and Albert Museum and Tate Modern, London, Manchester City Gallery, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Both Studio Tord Boontje and Boontje himself have won numerous awards and in 2009 Boontje was appointed as Professor and Head of Design Products at the Royal College of Art, a position he held for four years.
