We are pleased to present new work by Kerry Jameson: a cast of animal characters sketched in clay.
I often move into a body of work by sketching in clay or on paper; I need to observe, collect, and classify objects and assemble a cast of characters as tools. I frequently use antique toys as a reference in my work; I search out the traditional and the crafted; these are keepsakes from the past. Objects are full of ambiguities and entangled histories, tending to undermine the categories we offer them. They stand for a moment in time. Their surfaces and textures are often materials weathered by age, and their scars tell a story of experience.
– Kerry Jameson, 2024
The pieces in this series range between 23 and 26.5cm tall and are available to purchase individually or as a group. To enquire about sales please contact Tatjana Marsden.
